only for R&S®
Key Facts A low-noise, internal preamplifier for the full frequency range from 100 kHz up to 50 GHz for the R&S®FSU, R&S®FSQ and R&S®FSMR spectrum and signal analyzers significantly increases sensitivity especially at microwave frequencies - with major benefits for measurement work. Please see the picture for a comparison of noise floors of an R&S®FSU50 with and without preamp switched on: At 50 GHz the R&S®FSU-B24 option improves the noise floor by nearly 30 dB. The new R&S®FSU-B24 option can be installed in all microwave models (? 26 GHz) of the R&S®FSU, R&S®FSQ and R&S®FSMR series and can now be ordered. Unlike the R&S® ESU/ESU-B24, there is only one option, and it fits all microwave models of the R&S®FSU/R&S®FSQ/R&S®FSMR.
Benefits Feature Function Benefit Very low noise figure Improves sensitivity Signals hidden in the noise before can be measured. Search for low level signal such as spurious is much faster. Very low noise figure Improves S/N With better S/N the level uncertainty improves and the test result become more reliable. Internal preamplifier Preamp gain and frequency response are part of the instrument’s calibration. No need for extra preamplifier path calibration. Wide frequency range from 100 kHz to 26/40/46/50 GHz Just one option is needed to cover the full frequency range. No switchover points with derated accuracy.''
