Key facts With a connected NRP power sensor the power analysis option offers three different modes:
  • Power versus Frequency
  • Power versus Power
  • Power versus Time

Brief description In the absence of spectrum or network analyzers, scalar network analysis can be performed by means of the R&S®SMA100B analog signal generator with the R&S®SMAB-K28 power analysis option plus an NRP power sensor. One application example is to measure the passband characteristic of a bandpass filter. When you measure “power versus frequency” you can determine, if the filter has passed after filter tuning. Another idea is to measure the compression points of amplifiers. By using the “power versus power” diagram, one can measure quickly and with high accuracy the performance of this amplifier under test in his specific application. And last but not least you can catch all relevant pulse parameters in the mode “power versus time” of pulsed signals.
