Key Facts
  • Bluetooth® is a WPAN with low data rates combined with low power consumption. Bluetooth® is a spread spectrum frequency hopping system that works in the internationally available ISM bands at 2.4 GHz. With Bluetooth® Specification 2.0, enhanced data rate (EDR) and in Specification 4.0, low energy (LE) was implemented. The R&S®SMU-K60 option enables the R&S®SMU200A to generate Bluetooth® signals in accordance with version 2.1 including EDR and LE.
  • Main features of the R&S®SMU-K60 option:
    • Quick and easy configuration of standard-compliant Bluetooth® signals and and other signals with non-standard signals for the development process
    • Straightforward testing of Bluetooth® receivers and chipsets with a solution that is fully integrated into the GUI of the signal generator
    • Support for all three transport modes, in particular the ACL+EDR, SCO and eSCO+EDR transport modes
    • Support of all packet types for both the Basic Rate and the Enhanced Data Rate modes
    • Full control of packet configuration and device address for optimum tailoring of test signal
    • Automatic selection of modulation type according to chosen packet type
    • Generation of signals with up to a sequence length of 5238 frames dependant on the configuration of the signal generator
    • Flexible configuration of the packet contents: Standard-compliant packets configured with an intuitive packet editor or all-data packets that use predefined or user-specified data sources
    • Optional data whitening
    • Generation of signals in accordance with the Dirty Transmitter Test specification for both the basic and enhanced data rates
    • Power ramp control including ramp time, rise and fall offset
    • Configuration of the clipping, filter and modulation settings for the different modes
